Here’s a great read for those who are interested in the perspective of picture book authors and illustrators on the genre. Show Me a Story: Why Picture Books Matter, edited by Leonard S. Marcus, includes an amazing series of interviews with a group of the most influential picture book authors and illustrators of our time, from the late great Maurice Sendak to Mo Willems. Definitely pick this up if you find yourself reading your children’s picture books when you’re alone, too.
